Your writing is not analytics.
DraftWell keeps private projects on your device by default. Optional usage analytics is a separate browser preference and starts only after you allow it.
What stays on your device
Private scripts, project titles, notes, Story Bible entries, Writepad documents, versions, images, filenames, prompts, and preferences stay in this browser unless you deliberately export, share, or start an AI action.
Optional Google Analytics
If you turn on Share app usage, DraftWell sends fixed feature-use and reliability events to Google Analytics using measurement ID G-W0XNFWHS9V. Examples include opening a workspace, finishing onboarding, creating a project, completing an export, or whether collaboration connected.
DraftWell does not include screenplay text, searches, titles, filenames, character or collaborator names, comments, prompts, free-form errors, project or document IDs, access tokens, recovery keys, image hashes, or full URLs in those events.
Before you choose, an eligible fresh visit to draftwell.xyz may load Google’s tag file so Google can verify the installation. DraftWell keeps the tag disabled during that check: no usage events are sent and no analytics cookies are set.
After consent, Google Analytics may use a first-party identifier cookie and receive ordinary browser and network information. DraftWell disables advertising storage, Google Signals, and ad-personalization signals, uses a short non-renewing analytics cookie lifetime, and does not set a DraftWell user ID.
Your choice
Usage sharing is off until you allow it. Change it at any time in Preferences → Privacy. Turning it off stops future DraftWell analytics calls and removes DraftWell’s accessible Google Analytics cookies. DraftWell also keeps analytics off when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.
The verification tag is not requested on later visits after you decline, or at all when Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track is active, on a page opened through a collaboration link, while offline, or on local and preview copies. Offline activity is not queued for later upload.
Deliberate network features
Share creates a server-backed collaboration copy only when you ask. A Codex or Production action sends the bounded context needed for that action through your local companion only when you start it. These features are independent of the analytics preference.
Google’s role
Before you choose, Google receives the ordinary network information needed to serve its verification tag file. Google processes any consented analytics data under its own terms and privacy practices. You can learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google safeguards Analytics data.
